Maharaja's Dog

A few months earlier I painted the Maharaja's Dog for Firmdale's new hotel in New York, the Warren Street Hotel. 

The Maharaja's Dog is sort of based on my Portuguese dog-friend Bill, but I made him more elegant, like the slender hounds the Mughals had in the miniature paintings I found during my research.

I think the painting is in a beautiful bedroom somewhere in that hotel, by a huge hotel window with a magnificent view of New York City.
